I’ve just had another wretched experience with debt collectors, and I hardly got a wink of sleep last night. You see, I’m battling cancer and deal with a bone condition, not to mention the titanium bars I had fitted in my chest nearly a year ago. On top of that, I’ve got clattering neighbours all around me, making my nights unbearable. It's like an endless cycle of discomfort and fatigue. This morning I managed to feed my cats at half six and was just beginning to drift off when, lo and behold, these muppets chose that very moment, at 8:41, to ring me. I was furious! I practically screamed down the phone, “I’m not in any debt! What on earth are you harassing me for? I'm gravely ill!” They had the gall to just hang up on me. It's been relentless; I used to receive upwards of fifty calls daily until I got my iPhone 5s, which thankfully blocks these nuisances. It's absurd! They've even had the cheek to ask for me and my partner by name, completely disregarding the fact that we owe nothing. The worry is that my ex, who once tried to seriously harm me but walked free, has been seeking loans in our names, and here I am, the one left constantly under fire. I possess evidence to back this up, but the police, the courts, and even the injunctions haven’t been a shred of help. I even sent proof to these companies about my ex’s deceit, including instances where I was being pursued for loans that should’ve never involved me, especially considering my current situation. One company finally got it and stopped pestering me, but the others? They still keep ringing, even when I'm recovering post-surgery or resting in intensive care. Both of us find ourselves unable to secure the credit we deserve, all thanks to this mess. It feels completely unjust. From the age of seventeen, I’ve been dealing with fraud on my bank accounts, and to this day, no one has investigated it. Now in my thirties, I’m still blacklisted, despite having never taken out loans. Yet, somehow, I’m the one perpetually pursued. There must be laws against this, as these companies are making my existence a living hell and completely hindering my aspirations of a better life. I can’t even get moved from these noisy neighbours! It’s utterly disheartening that no one has been willing to help me.
