they seemed to know about a car loan i took out way back in 2005. claimed the fca had given them my contact. i told them i work at a bank and that the fca doesn’t just hand out numbers like that! then he started rambling about the fca and went on to say i could claim ppi on that loan. he refused to say who gave them my number. didn’t ask for any personal info or bank details, only wanted to send me an application form. i told him to just post it if that was all and he ended the call. when he rang again, i ignored it.

kept dodging the question about where exactly they were calling from even after I asked multiple times. claimed they were giving a refund for some bank fees. when I pushed for more info, they finally mentioned barclays. I told them I never held an account with barclays and asked again who they were with, then they just ended the call! watch out!
