Got this cold call with a robotic voice telling me to add them on WhatsApp, felt like an automated message or something. Really strange!

Got a call from a guy who sounded like he wasn’t from around here, claiming he was ringing on behalf of Marks and Spencer. He asked me to verify my name and address. I asked what the call was about, and he kept insisting he was from M&S and needed my info. When I told him that since he called, he must already have my details, he just kept pushing me to confirm them. I ended the call after that.

They already seemed to have my info, so I said yes, then started rambling about a washing machine before suddenly hanging up. I looked into it on Action Fraud and it might be an ID theft scam. Got a call from some Indian guy claiming he was from M&S, asked me to verify my name first. Then he went on about whether I lived at the address he had, postcode included. Once I said yes, he started mentioning a washing machine and then just ended the call. Not quite sure what that was about, but I’m definitely keepin a closer eye on my bank stuff now!
