The caller said they were from BT Openreach, but this site tells me the number actually belongs to Vodafone. I can't see any reason why BT Openreach would be ringing me up, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be using a competitor’s network either, so that raised alarm bells straight away. When I picked up, I could hear the background noise of a busy call centre. After a few moments, a man asked, "How are you today?" I replied, "I'm fine, thanks," but probably sounded a bit off because he instantly cut the call. To me, it looked like a phishing attempt trying to gather my personal info.
