The individual on the line spoke with a heavy accent, possibly Indian or Pakistani, making it quite challenging to decipher what they were saying. My son answered the phone, and they presented themselves as representatives from Global Tech. Unfortunately, he was initially convinced by their pitch. However, when they started asking for payment, he quickly backtracked and insisted he wouldn't part with any money. They mentioned that the conversation was being recorded, to which he responded that he was aware of that. After a chat with my tech-savvy mate, who recommended I sever the connection with both the caller and the internet, I took his advice. The next day, my mate gave my PC a thorough check-up and assured me there was nothing wrong. It turns out it was indeed a scam. I've also noted two other calls from unknown numbers marked as "out of area."
