Got a message claiming it was from HSBC saying there was a payment attempt on my account. But I don't even have an account with them! The text told me to click a link in the email if it wasn't me. Sounds like some kind of scam to me, seems to be a new one going about.

The link they included didn’t seem to be a proper HSBC website at all, so I’m pretty sure this is just a scam trying to phish information. Wouldn't trust that number for a second.
