Got a call on my landline from 004 0767918722 earlier today, 18th July 2023. I picked up and the person claimed to be from BT Openreach. When I asked how they got my number, they just ended the call. Bit dodgy if you ask me, could be a scam?

It was a woman with an Asian accent, said she was calling from Northern Bank about a life insurance policy I supposedly have with them. I asked to be removed from their calls and told her that Northern Bank hasn't been around for years.

This guy with an Asian accent rang up askin for someone by our family name. I got suspicious so I asked who he was. He said something about citizen advice and a loan. I told him no one here needs a loan, we’re all working hard. Then I asked nicely to take me off their call lists and not share my number around. He just told me to ‘duck myself’ and said he’d spread my number all over the UK. He hung up quick before I could even say that all calls are recorded :D

Got a call asking for two different folks, right? When I asked who it was, the bloke said some name tied to a taxi company in Manchester. I mentioned that’s actually my workplace, and he suddenly went off on me, swearing and saying all sorts about wanting to mess me up, even asking about my body. I told him the cops are here with me now and he just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a guy with an asian accent claiming to be from the criminal fraud department, saying I owed money I needed to settle. I told him I’m a retired disabled person with no debts and told him I reckoned he was just a scammer. He just hung up on me after that.

I got a call from an Asian guy named Eric who claimed it was a feedback survey for citizens advice. Then he began asking loads of questions about life insurance. When I told him I wasn’t up for chatting and was about to hang up, he got a bit rude. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number today, some bloke saying I owed money. I asked to be removed from their list but he just kept going on, shouting about this supposed “debt”. Had a bloke ring claiming to be from some credit company, and ive had about 15 calls from them this week already. I asked him to remove my number but he just told me to f### off. Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from a debt collection company. Told him I don’t owe anything and wondered why a proper firm would ring from a mobile. He got all sarcastic and a bit rude. I ended up shouting back, calling him a scammer and told him to find proper work. He said he’ll be sending bailiffs over. Yeah, sure thing, mate!

A debt collector called saying there’s some government scheme to help with paying off debts - they claimed to have my profile but never mentioned any amount owed. Their address info was way off too. They ended the call when they figured out I was just wasting their time and hadn’t bought into their trick.

I got a call from this number saying they were from Citizens Advice about some debt issue. I said I also work for Citizens Advice and asked for his staff ID. He started calling me a liar over and over and then just ended the call!!

He repeated “so you have debt?” I asked him the company name and he shot back with a cheeky “go **** yourself, idiot”. Lovely guy, really professional credit agency. Best just to block the sod if this number calls you.

they've ringed me loads today and have been at it for weeks even after I told them to stop and take my number off their list. it's always some bloke. the last two calls today i said it's harassment and i’m gonna report it. he just laughed and said he enjoyed harassing me and called me a rude name, plus made some inappropriate remarks. i told him i was reporting it and hung up. don’t pick up, it’s dodgy!

At first, they claim to be from some credit firm, then next they say they’re from citizens advice. Whenever I block one of their numbers, they ring again the very next day at exactly the same time. I’ve shouted at them, told them to leave me alone, even asked them to remove me from their list, but they just keep calling from new numbers. They’re quite rude as well, and they hang up as soon as you say you’re the person they want. These lot are a proper pain, so don’t hand over any of your personal info to them.
