This number rang me up saying my visa was being charged 900 quid online right this second and to hit 1 if I didn’t make the purchase to speak to their “fraud department.” I almost went along with it, curious to see how long I could keep them on the line, but beware - pressing 1 just directs you to a premium rate line. They’ll keep you chatting forever and rack up a massive phone bill. Seriously don’t press that button unless you like seeing huge extra charges added to your phone statement.

This number rang me up saying my Visa card was being charged right now for a £900 purchase online and told me to press 1 if I hadn’t made the purchase to speak to their fraud team. I really wanted to waste their time by pressing 1, but BE WARNED: if you do press it, you’ll get connected to a premium rate line. They’ll just keep you on hold for ages, and you'll end up with a massive bill on your phone account. Don’t get caught out by this scam unless you want a huge unexpected charge!
