Got a call from some recorded voice with a strong Asian accent claiming to be BT about my internet being slow. Thing is, I’m not even with BT, so it’s clearly a scam trying to phish info or something. Avoid it!

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the UK financial watchdog. When I asked them which part of the organisation they were with, they just ended the call. Definitely a scam.

So, someone calling themselves ‘the finance ombudsman’ gave me a ring, sayin they’re sending me a cheque for about £2xxx linked to my PPI claim. The bloke on the line was called Patrick, and he had a really thick Asian accent. I told him straight away I never made a PPI claim because I’ve never taken out any big loans. Then he kinda questioned me like, ‘Are you absolutely certain?’ I said, ‘Definitely’. After a long silence, he said, ‘Right, I’m hanging up now because you’re just wasting my time. Cheers!’

Got a call with no sound, when I tried ringing back there was no answer.

So this number rang me and when I picked up, no one said a word. It’s part of some group that rings from loads of different phones. Seems like they’re probably after your money or personal details. Blocking them is pointless since they just use another number the next day and never stick to the same one.

I got a call from the number 01617778890 saying it was the UK finance department about some PPI money I was owed. Sounded like one of those PPI scams. I pretended to be interested to try and waste their time, but as soon as they started asking for personal info, I just ended the call. Pretty sure it’s just a scam trying to get your details.
