I received a message from this number, purporting to be from Metro Bank, notifying me of a dodgy transaction linked to my account. Considering I don’t even have an account with them, I swiftly blocked the number.

So I just got a text saying something like: METRO BANK tried to take £234.21 to someone called 'STANLEY ROBERTS' on 27 Feb 2024 at 1:46pm. It asks to reply N if it wasn't me. Thing is, I've never even had an account with Metro Bank!
