I just got a call from a woman with a really thick Indian accent, talking about setting up my account or something. She never mentioned which company she was calling from, but I ended the call pretty quickly before she could say more. The day before, I had a message from a different number claiming to be Santander, warning me that Argos was trying to take £799 from my account and that they’d stopped the payment, asking me to ring them back. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with Santander!
