Then they went on about needing to sort a £500 bill straight away and gave me some bank details - Dante-Simpson-Thompson, account 84207304, sort code 60-84-07 - asking if I could pay it for her. They kept pestering me with texts, asking if I’d sent the money yet. Naturally, I phoned my real daughter on her usual number and she confirmed it wasn’t her. So I just told that scammer to jog on.3 yearsGot a text from someone claiming to be my son saying his phone was busted. Totally annoyed 😡4 yearsWatch out, this is a total con! They pretend to be your kid saying they dropped their phone in the loo. Don’t get tricked by it!!!4 yearsSomeone rang saying it was their daughter, claimed she’d dropped her phone in the toilet and was now using a mate’s number temporarily. They were really polite on the phone. The next day, they came back asking if they could settle a bill on the new number, saying their payment had bounced and they’d sort everything once their bank details were updated on the phone.
