They said they were from HMRC, but it sounded dodgy to me. Why would a government agency call from a cell phone anyway? Feels like a scam for sure.

I got a call earlier today from a number claiming to be from British Gas. They kept asking who my current supplier was and if I’d consider switching. Then they started asking for my home address, which felt a bit dodgy to me. I ended the call and rang British Gas myself to check. The lady I spoke to was really helpful and said that it’s definitely a scam. So if you get a call from this number, I’d be really cautious about picking up.

Received a rather suspicious call from the number listed yesterday. The caller claimed to be from British Gas and inquired if my address was accurate. When I pressed for an explanation as to why they needed this information, they refused to provide any details and merely repeated their question about the address. After I declined to confirm, they abruptly ended the call! Quite unprofessional, if you ask me!
