Just got a call from someone claiming they cancelled a payment to EBAY. They said they'd call me back and sent a code via text, which I didn’t bother opening. When they phoned again, I told them straight up they were scammers because I hadn’t refused any transaction. They said it wouldn’t be showing up, but I still insisted they were trying to scam me. Then I hung up.

This number is definitely a scam. They claimed to be NatWest, sending an ALERT with a ‘OneTimePasscode’ for a huge payment to eBay. They said if I hadn’t authorised it, to reply NO with ref: REF:8XCDE. I didn’t respond. When I tried to contact NatWest, I was stuck talking to a bot that asked loads of questions and then wanted a 4-digit code I didn’t have. Now I’m just stuck in limbo. Pretty clear this was a phishing attempt.
