I got a call from this number claiming to be from The Tax Group. They said I was due 40% refund from a ppi claim I made in 2018. Thing is, they wouldn’t tell me the exact figure saying it was 'confidential’, and I never even had any ppi payout to begin with. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a woman looking for me, saying I was owed a tax refund. I asked her for my National Insurance number, but she said something about GODR and couldn't give it out. I told her my NI starts with K and mentioned that HMRC had already contacted me about it and were sorting things. Then she claimed she wasn’t from HMRC at all. I just said alright and hung up. Why would HMRC ever call from a mobile phone? Total scam - don’t fall for it!

Got a call about some tax refund from HMRC, said they’d send me a cheque, and I wouldn’t have to give any bank details. They wanted me to fill out some form for it. Felt a bit off, to be honest.

Loads of scams linked to Hamas going around. They’re just trying to get cash. Best thing is to ignore and not pick up!

I got a call saying I'd been charged too much tax and they wanted me to complete some paperwork.

So I got a call from some "tax advisors" who gave me a dodgy email and when I told them it wasn’t mine, they just hung up on me! Not sure what the point of the call was, sounded like a call centre anyway, so I’ve blocked the number now.
