Got a message from someone called Sarah claiming she's in hospital, sounds dodgy to me. This has to be some kind of scam, but does anyone know where we can report this? Just want to be sure it’s handled properly.

So my mum got a text from this number and it was from my best mate Sarah. She'd contacted her dad and he ended up thinking she'd had a fall or something, which caused loads of stress!

I just got the same message, and honestly, i'm going to block and delete that number straight away!

I received a message saying, "Hi, it's Sarah. Can you help me out? I've had a little mishap and fractured my fibula. I'm in hospital right now. Please reply when you get this." The only Sarah I know is my partner's mum, and he hadn’t heard from her, plus she usually rings instead of texting. So, I searched those exact words online and found out it’s a scam trying to trick people into paying for phone credit top-ups, coming from lots of different numbers. Watch out for this one, folks.
