Got a text from someone named Sarah saying she’d had a little accident and broke her fibula and left elbow, asking for a favour and to reply if I got the message. I don’t know any Sarah, and looking at the past messages, it’s obvious a scam. The caller ID on my phone showed it was suspicious too.

I received a rather peculiar message on my phone that read, "Hello, it's Sarah. I could really use a favour if you don't mind. I've had a minor mishap and ended up breaking my fibula and my left elbow. Can you drop me a message back when you see this? Kisses." It struck me as rather strange, mainly because I only know two individuals named Sarah, and coincidentally, I had been in conversation with both of them right when this odd text arrived.

this morning i got a message from this number saying hi its sarah. she said she had a bit of an accident and broke her fibula and elbow, asking if i could do her a favour. she wanted me to reply asap. sounded a bit dodgy so i searched online and saw loads of folks got the same msg from different numbers. some replied and got hit with a £40 charge! total scam! blocked the number straight away!
