I got a call from a woman looking for the person who owns the house. I explained that it was actually a number for a business, she said sorry and then ended the call.

A woman rang me from 07762 414483 asking if the house owner was in. She claimed I’d just sold my place, which wasn’t true at all. I told her not to bother and hung up. With all these new Data Protection regulations, how on earth did they get hold of my number? I’m ex-directory and registered with the TPS too!

Like plenty of others, I've had a similar run-in. I reckon they're fishing for your home address since they don't seem to know much about you. Just recently, my neighbour had their house broken into while they were out, and it's got me thinking if these calls could be linked somehow.

I got a call from someone named Ryan who wanted to know if I owned the house. When I told him no, he asked to speak to the owner. I said they weren’t around, and then I asked who he was and what company he worked for. He just said sorry and hung up on me. What freaked me out was that I’m on the ex-directory, I only rent this place, and I’m disabled. Plus, he rang from a mobile number. I’ve flagged the number as suspicious but can’t track down any details about it.

I picked up the phone and there was no one talking, just a faint "hello" right as I hung up. Sounds like it might of been one of those call centres.

A bloke called Simon rang me up asking if I owned the house, claiming he was from Simply. When I tried to find out what he wanted, he just ended the call.

I got a call from a bloke named Ryan who asked if I owned the house, claiming he worked for some firm called Simply. When I asked him what "Simply" actually was, the caller just hung up on me. I did a 1471 to check the number and then tried calling back, but it just rang out with an unobtainable tone.

Got a call today, with some loud noise in the background at first, then a bloke who called himself Ryan asked if he could talk to the house owner. He said they were opening a new shop nearby and offered vouchers or something. I just ended the call straight away and immediately blocked the number. Whatever the scheme is, I’m sure they’re targeting vulnerable elderly folks. Meanwhile, Ofcom just sits there doing sweet FA.

Got a call from them today, they were telling me about three different vouchers for a newly opened place in Romford. I'm on the do not call list and my number's unlisted as well. Seems to me they just grab a random area and ring loads of people hoping someone bites. I'm planning to report them to the TPS, hoping enough complaints will make them take action.

Got a call on my home phone, picked up and all I could hear was some kind of office noise in the background. I said hello a few times but nobody answered. Eventually, I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from someone saying they represent a new gutter and soffit business about to open a store in our local shopping centre. They were handing out vouchers but when I asked for the shop unit number, they said they hadn’t settled on one yet. Said the company is based in Essex. We’re on the TPS list and I swear this is the same call I had maybe a year ago? They mentioned a recent deal to buy a unit in the exact same centre and were offering vouchers then too. Strange how the story hasn’t changed much.

Got a call on our landline but no message left. We’re on the TPS and our number’s unlisted. When I rang back with caller ID hidden, the line was unreachable. These calls are becoming so common now - my blocked numbers on both phone and mobile are through the roof. Something really needs to be done about this because it’s quite worrying, especially since I have no clue how our number ended up out there. I can’t imagine how anxious someone else more jumpy than me would be!

I picked up the phone and a guy called David asked if he was speaking to the house owner. He said he was starting a new fascia business down Leigh Broadway. I told him I already have double glazing and plastic fascias fitted, then ended the call. When I tried ringing him back, the number wasn’t even recognised. How did they manage to get my number? Pretty worrying as my details are ex-directory.

On the 26th of May, my dad got a call from this number. There was a really loud argument between a guy and a woman, lots of swearing going on. Then the call just abruptly ended.
