Got a call from some roaming ‘tree surgeons’ who were cold calling. They left a flyer but didn’t have any sort of website or social media presence. They kept telling me they’d ‘just wrapped up a job nearby’ so they could offer a discount. They came up with a quote right then and there, but honestly, I think they might have just been using it as an excuse to look around my garden or gear. I’m definitely not ringing back that number. Watch out if these people come knocking - they probably don’t have any proper credentials.

Some tree surgeons phoned out of the blue offering to prune a couple of our massive trees and clear up the mess. They initially said the price would be £350, then dropped it to £280 if we acted straight away. My hubby said yes to that, they did the work, but then suddenly wanted £450 in cash. They claimed they were from Runcorn. Feeling proper ripped off. Watch out for these sorts!
