I received a call claiming to be from the immigration office with a choice to speak either to an English or Chinese speaker. I selected English by pressing 1, but the call was directed to someone speaking Chinese. As soon as they realised I couldn’t understand, they just hung up. I’m completely English, born and raised here, never been to China or lived anywhere else other than the UK. I’ve gotten quite a few calls like this, but all from different numbers.
