I got a call from a woman saying she was from the Bank’s Security team. She told me my card had been charged £140 for a train journey from Edinburgh to London earlier today. She said it looked weird because I hadn’t made any such purchase before. The message asked me to press 1 if I wanted to authorise it, or press 2 to talk to someone in Bank Security. What was odd is that the number was different from the last time I got this sort of call, and it was all prerecorded.
