Got a ring from this number yesterday. A bloke with an accent claimed BT had detected unauthorised use of my internet, very familiar story! Played along for a while to see where he was going. He asked me to open Terminal and run Netstat, said it would show proof. Then he wanted remote access to my PC so BT could fix the problem! I ended the call and right away a woman with a foreign accent called back. Hung up again and just blocked the number now.

This number, 07752124527, rang me four times on Sunday claiming there were issues with my computer. On the third call, the person said they’d block the number. Every time I told them I wasn’t interested and to stop calling. But, to my annoyance, they rang again immediately after the fourth call. We had no conversation and I just hung up. Feels like a proper scam to me. And wouldn’t you know it, they called once more this morning but no one said a word!

Got four calls from 07752124527 on Sunday, all about some issue with my computer. On the third call they claimed they’d block the number, but kept calling anyway. We made it clear we weren’t interested and asked them to stop, but the fourth call came through immediately and we just hung up without saying anything. Looks like a total scam to me. Then this morning they rang again, but no one said a word!

This morning at around 9, a woman with an Asian accent called me claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had been hacked. I asked why she was calling from a mobile since Microsoft’s a huge company with proper phone lines and surely wouldn’t have my number. She said their lines were down and that’s why she used her mobile. Once I stopped chuckling, I told her I’d be reporting the number to both Microsoft and the fraud squad. She then started swearing at me, which just made me laugh harder, probably pissed her off 'cause she cut me off.

Today, at 13.21 on 17/02/2018, I got a voicemail saying something like "the anti fraud team have a complaint against you. To talk to an officer press 1". I jotted it down and looked up the number, which led me to this website and, as I thought, it’s a scam. Is there anything that can be done about these calls? I’m pretty sure if I’d pressed 1, they’d have started asking for my personal info. If I were older or less aware, I might’ve given details without thinking about the consequences. It really concerns me how easily vulnerable folks could be scared into handing over their info.

I've seen other posts about this number and some like it where scammers are spouting off peoples real details, even stuff that’s fresh. It’s just not on, totally unacceptable. What exactly are companies doing about it? Or are they somehow involved? This has got to be stopped immediately.

Seriously fed up with these idiots calling nonstop, running out of room to block anymore. It's high time those useless government agencies actually did something about it. I've reported it to action fraud but they're a joke, just like all the others - good at talking but never taking real action. When you see how many people have been called on this site, you'd think someone would finally step up and sort it out.

Got a call this morning from an Indian bloke, my daughter picked up and he asked if it was me. When she said no, he suddenly went all aggressive, shouting ‘This is you, I know you well.’ My daughter insisted it wasn’t her, and he called her a fibber, demanding to know who she was. She asked who he was, he said ‘James.’ Then she asked why he was ringing, and he said if my daughter told him who she was, he’d tell her why he was calling. She was left speechless and he just ended the call.

Totally scammy. These bloody liars tried getting me to download some software or app on my PC to ‘fix errors’. The cheeky bastards even asked for a credit card payment to prevent future issues. Little did they know I sussed their game and played along. After a bit, I said I hadn’t even switched my computer on. You should have heard the swearing they threw at me. I tried not to crack up (but ended up doing it) which annoyed them even more, haha. I asked the guy what it feels like to be made a mug and then he just hung up. Win!

I had a similar experience. The person said they were from Microsoft and warned me my PC was at serious risk. They even said they knew my software’s license key and used that to prove the call was genuine. Then they got me to enter a command on my computer which supposedly found the “license key.” It all felt really fishy from the start since Microsoft doesn’t use the landline number they called from. I kept going for a bit but stopped when I started worrying I might accidentally cause harm and just ended the call.

Picked up the phone and all I got was a quick 'Goodbye'. Seems like some automated system checking if the number is alive before scammers get through. They then add it to a list so a real person can ring back and try their tricks, like those Virgin or BT scams. Be careful, dont share anything and just hang up straight away. Keep safe out there.

Some bloke speaking with an Indian accent rang me, saying he was from BT Openreach. He said there was something wrong with my internet and asked me to switch on my computer. I told him straight up that he was just a dodgy scammer, then hung up and blocked his number.

Got a quiet call then someone said “Bye David Spires Spires Towers” -- is this some sort of scam where they’re trying to get money from phone calls??

This number rang my nan who’s 84, about something to do with her computer. She told them she has no computer at all, which is true. Then the caller just went "Shut up you woman". She’s really upset about it now.

A lady from India with awful signal was on the phone, saying something about a computer. She seemed to think she was talking to the computer's owner. At the start, she kept yelling "Can you hear me?" like seven times. I just ended the call.

Had some bloke ring me up saying he was from Microsoft and knew all about the issues on my PC. I was trying to keep him chatting for a bit, but they must be onto me because he ended the call after about 5 minutes. It’s a real shame when these muppets ruin a bit of harmless fun!

A guy with an Indian accent called me from a number I couldn't recognise, saying he was from BT Openreach and that my WiFi got hacked, interrupting my internet during the night. He even mentioned BT ID licence details. The call dropped and later I got a few calls from a mobile starting with 0775. I didn't pick up. When I checked with Openreach, they told me it was a spam hacking attempt.

Some bloke with a foreign accent rang my mother-in-law and asked if she was Mrs #####. She said yes, then he told her her postcode and asked if that was right. She said yes, and then they just hung up. We've reported it to the police!

Got a call in the middle of lunch, took a while before someone picked up. I answered cause it was a mobile number I didn’t know, not the usual landline number linked to spam. The bloke on the other end couldn’t even get our surname right and was struggling with his English, really broken and hard to understand. I ended up just hanging up and looking up the number afterwards. Glad I didn’t waste more time on it. Hats off to anyone who manages to put up with those annoying calls for longer!

My mum got a call from this number and the person said they were from Microsoft, claiming her computer was infected with a virus. I found it odd and told them mum doesn’t even own a computer. After that, they just ended the call, which seemed pretty suspicious to me.

Someone rang me pretending to be from "Microsoft," saying there were issues with my internet on my computer. I told them how wrong it was to try fooling people like that, and they hung up straight away. Then just yesterday, I got another call saying my internet would be cut off for eight days - but it’s still working fine. Honestly, I’d just be wary of anyone like this trying to grab your cash.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent who said his name was Jasper Williams and claimed he was from BT. He said some hackers from overseas had hacked into my computer and offered to sort it out for me. I wasn’t having any of it, so I passed the phone to my son straight away. He quickly clocked that the call was coming from a mobile number and told the guy in no uncertain terms where to go. Just so you know, I’m not even a BT customer. Watch out for this one!

Had this call from some woman claiming she's with BT. She said folks in some foreign countries were messing with my internet connection. Honestly, I have enough trouble just getting Wi-Fi in my kitchen, so whoever's trying is outta luck! 😂

Got called by a lady who sounded like she was from India, and she actually knew my name and where I live. She claimed she was with some place called Family Dwellings, but I’ve honestly never heard of them. She was asking me to help out by answering some questions, but I told her I don’t deal with those things and ended the call right away. Then I blocked the number so they can't bother me again.

I've had to block a lot of calls from the same number using my phone's blocker. Sorry to anyone trying to get through, but if you want to speak with me, please book an appointment first - and there'll be a charge for that.
