Got a message from someone claiming to be the DVLA about getting a refund. My moter car’s tax is already free and ive had it for 4 years now. In the past if I was due a refund, they’d send me a cheque, no questions. When I clicked their link it showed “not secure” instead of the usual padlock you see on proper .gov.uk sites. That gave it away straight away as a con. Be careful and watch out for that kind of thing!

Got a text from 07752060322 claiming I could claim a refund from DVLA. The link led to a site pretending to be DVLA but was dodgy. They wanted me to fill in loads of personal info, even stuff like my debit card details and my mum’s maiden name! Really suspicious, so be careful and don’t trust it!
