The email came from "gooner4life82@virginmedia[###]". I naïvely replied since I’d just started the job and didn’t have my manager’s contact details yet. Soon after, I got a WhatsApp message, then a call, and a bunch of texts when I didn’t answer straight away (was stuck in a meeting). Luckily, my actual manager came in and when I told him, we both realised it was a total scam.
