Much like Damien, I too received a rather dubious message on my mobile only an hour ago. It read: "Our records suggest you could be eligible for £5,000 in compensation due to your recent accident. To proceed, simply reply CLAIM to this text, or text STOP to opt out." Naturally, we decided to ring the number from a secured line to ascertain the source, but were quickly redirected to an O2 voicemail instead. As I’ve mentioned before, do not be taken in by this message!

--- Just received a dodgy text claiming I could be owed £5000 for an accident I never had! They said to reply with CLAIM if I wanted to initiate this nonsense, and to text STOP if I wanted it to cease. It’s quite suspicious as I’ve seen others mention they got the same message, albeit from different numbers. My number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so they’re clearly skirting around the law! It's alarming that these scammers have access to my details. Whatever you do, don’t be taken in by their tricks! ---

Earlier today, just about an hour ago, we received a rather peculiar text on our mobile from someone calling themselves Damien. The message read something along the lines of, "Based on my information, you may be entitled to £50 in compensation for a recent incident. Simply reply to this message, and to stop receiving texts, reply with STOP." Naturally, we decided to ring the number, thinking it might shed some light on the matter, but instead, it was redirected straight to O2's voicemail. As I’ve mentioned before, it's best to ignore that message entirely.
