Had a call about checking my solar panels, they wanted to book a visit. I tried telling them I wasn’t fussed, but they just didn’t get what I was saying. Kept asking what I meant by ‘not interested’ like it was some kind of mystery! Luckily, they dropped the call before I had to end it. Seriously, would you let a company into your home that’s that cheeky and clueless? No thanks!

A bloke called James rang me, claiming he needed to check my solar panels since the company that installed them went under. He asked if I could spare about 30 minutes tomorrow. Problem was, he clearly hadn’t done his homework because I don't actually own the panels, just get the electricity from them. I got a letter from the real owners back in March, telling me to watch out for calls like this. When I started asking him questions he couldn’t answer, he just put the phone down. At least he was polite about it, which is a nice change from the usual.

Got a call from someone claiming to be the home advice centre, asking about fibreglass insulation I got done a few years back. When I asked how they got my info, they just ended the call. They keep ringing from loads of different mobile numbers too.

Got a call from some "home advice bureau" bunch who actually used my name and then asked if everything was alright with me. Just when I thought it was genuine, they went and dropped the call! Absolute pain, those lot.

Got a call about some grants for fixing up the house or making improvements. I told them I probably wouldn’t be eligible since I don’t get any benefits. They just ended the call. Feels a bit odd that someone claiming to do official stuff would be ringing me from a mobile number, doesn't it?
