Got a call pretending to be from Halifax about some "new payee" alert. They wanted me to click on a link starting with HTTPS, which seemed pretty legit at first glance. But on closer look, it wasn’t the real Halifax.co.uk site at all. Honestly, I’d say be super careful with these - they’re dodgy and not trustworthy in the slightest.

Just got the same message about Mr White. I bank with Halifax and they definitely never send texts asking to set up payees, so this has to be a scam. Stay alert!

Just got a message saying a new payee's been added to my account, but it was a scam pretending to be from my bank.

Got a text saying: Halifax has added MR A SMITH as a new payee. If I didn't approve, check out (website deleted) to stop it. Thing is, I've never banked with Halifax at all. Also, the link ended with .com instead of .co.uk, which is weird for a UK firm. Pretty sure it’s a dodgy scam.
