Out of the blue, I got a text saying "Hi dad, can you save this number? My phone got damaged so I’m using this one." I replied and then they messaged back asking if I could do a favour for them. Then the whole scam started - they said they couldn’t get into their banking app because it was locked for security reasons since they’re not logging in from their usual phone.
