This number looked a bit familiar, so I figured it might be a family member calling. Turned out to be a recorded message though, and I didn't bother listening to the whole thing. They were asking about my National Insurance number, which set alarm bells ringing straight away - definitely felt like a scam to me. If it was really from HMRC or any other government agency, they’d contact me by an official email or just send a letter through the post.
