Got a call where they wanted me to verify my address and postcode, plus my name. Definitely didn’t share any info!

It’s a mobile number, so already a bit dodgy if you ask me! They were trying to chat about my life insurance and saying I should review it every half year. Nah, rubbish. Just get yourself a term assurance and forget about any price hikes. It’s a right nightmare if you cancel and then try to get a new one, costs a bomb.

I noticed I had a couple of missed calls but no voicemail, so when they rang a third time, I finally picked up and said “hello” three times, but then they just hung up on me. Feels like they’re testing which numbers are active to sell on to other annoying scam groups. These calls are seriously getting worse, almost like harassment now - I’d say about 70% of my weekly phone rings are from these pests. Blocking doesn’t help much because they just use new numbers to bother me again. It’s really frustrating.

Got a suspicious call from a woman with an Asian, maybe Indian accent, who asked for me by name and wanted me to confirm an old address I don’t live at anymore. She mentioned Marks & Spencer before abruptly ending the call. I’ve reported it to Vodafone and they’re looking into it. If anyone else gets a fishy call from this number, it might be worth reporting it too, so Vodafone can try to stop these annoying calls in future.
