My mum got a call where they wanted her to save the number, pretending it was me with a brand new phone number. Seems like a total scam to me.

My dad, who lives in Berkshire, got a message on WhatsApp that seemed to be from me, using my first name. The message said, "Hi Dad, this is my new number: +44 774 8699 408. Save it. SHARON." It's quite alarming that scammers might have managed to get into my phone to figure out our relationship. I reckon this is just the first step. Next, they’ll probably ring him pretending to be me, asking to pay a bill or send money because I've supposedly lost my bank card. It’s obvious they’re going after older people. Just a heads-up to everyone!

I got a call from someone claiming to be my daughter because her phone was off and she said she got a new number. She said she had to sort out a bill payment quickly and asked if I could cover it for her. Honestly, it felt fishy and almost tricked me - definitely a risky scam to watch out for.
