So this guy rang me up asking if I’d had an accident recently. I told him yes - but only last week a seagull ruined my jacket while I was wandering through town. Then I made it clear I haven’t had a proper accident in 25 years. He got a bit cheeky and said, "But you said you had an accident last week with a seagull." I just replied, yeah, now delete my info from your system - though I guess you can't exactly fix the seagull issue, can you? After that, he just hung up on me. Aren’t these cold calls supposed to be banned or something now?

So I got a call from this supposed accident claims outfit saying I’d been in a recent accident. When I asked how they even knew about it, the bloke just cut me off and hung up. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the "claims department" - they never mentioned which company though. They said they’d heard I’d been in an accident within the past three months, which is a bit of a usual tactic. I told them I hadn’t, and instantly they just ended the call.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from United Kingdom Reference or something like that. They said they just wanted to ask me a few quick yes or no questions that would only take about a minute. When I asked them to explain exactly what United Kingdom Reference was, the line went dead - they just hung up on me.
