I got a message supposedly from the department of work and pensions saying I hadn’t applied for a £200-£300 subsidy for 2024-2025. Doesn’t seem right to me, sounds like a scam.

Got a dodgy message on my phone from some mobile number saying it was from DWP, telling me to click on a link (rebrand.ly...) to claim a subsidy for 2024/25. Total scam, trying to nab your bank details. FYI, DWP never contacts people by text. Watch out!
