I've received a text concerning a potential claim for an accident. Could anyone shed light on what this is about? I'm a bit perplexed and would appreciate any insights! Cheers!

A mate of mine received a message and replied with a 'yes', which surprisingly landed him over 6,000 in compensation. Now, I know this might raise a few eyebrows in terms of ethics, but let me clarify: it's not a phishing attempt, just someone trying to drum up some business.

Received a rather dodgy text from the number +447747561229 - it read: FREEMSG: Our records suggest you could be eligible for a compensation of £3750 due to an accident you've supposedly had. If you wish to make a claim at no cost, simply reply with YES to this message. To unsubscribe, text quit. It's clearly a scam; we haven’t encountered any accidents in yonks! If you reply with either YES or STOP, they'll probably hit you with hefty charges. Best to delete it and just steer clear of any engagement!

I've encountered the same issue too; we’re in the field of personal injury law and it’s nothing short of a con. A fee is imposed as soon as you reply to their text, so best to just ignore it. While my numbers can be conjured up at random, my partner and I actually bought our phones at the same moment-there was merely a single digit that differed between our lines. Not exactly rocket science to figure out the missing numeral, is it!

Well, it seems we've managed to ruffle a few feathers among the fraudsters, and potentially put a dent in another scammer's wallet too! All we did was send a cheeky little message to those jokers sending out those dodgy accident scam texts. We utilised an online SMS service to craft our little note. Instead of my actual number, we input one belonging to the fraudsters - clever, eh? And for the address, we decided to borrow the Bank of England’s postal address. The site confirmed our message was dispatched, and I can’t help but wish those charlatans could see it. What a laugh! Giving the scammers a taste of their own medicine!

I've faced the same issue; we’re involved in personal injury law and it’s undoubtedly a con. They hit you with a charge the moment you respond to their text, so just erase it without a second thought. My number, like many others, can be randomly created, but interestingly, my wife and I got our phones at the exact same time. The only distinction being a single digit between our numbers, making it a piece of cake for someone to figure out the other one! (And let’s not forget about the spelling blunders!)

I've received a rather alarming message suggesting that we might receive £3,750. I've only just started physiotherapy, which is covered by my insurance provider, Simplyhealth. I'm starting to wonder if these people are sharing our personal information without our consent. What are your thoughts on this?

I received the same text message from this number. It's clearly a scam, as they want you to reply to opt out, likely at a premium charge, I'm certain of it.

I must say, I've had my fair share of experiences in the realm of personal injury law, and this particular instance feels like a right con. The charges seem utterly baseless. When I messaged back, I simply wanted them to take my details off their list. It’s easy to see how numbers can be randomly created, but both my partner's phone and mine were bought simultaneously, with just a single digit distinguishing the two. Not the hardest mystery to crack if you ask me! (Or perhaps a little attention to spelling could help?)

I've received an unexpected message suggesting we might be entitled to £3,750. I've only just started physiotherapy, which is being covered by my partner’s health insurance with Simplyhealth. Is there any chance that these folks are sharing our information?
