Got a call on my landline about some recent purchases supposedly from Amazon, asking me to press 1 to verify or 2 to cancel payment. The amounts they mentioned didn’t sound familiar at all. Funny enough, I was watching Rip Off Britain at the same time where the main discussion was about scam payments and counterfeit stuff sold by dodgy Amazon sellers. I’ve blocked the number now and put in a report with Who Called Me. Plus, I got an email from Amazon warning all customers about these kinds of scams, so it’s definitely a known issue.
