I got a message from this number claiming to be HSBC. It said someone tried to add a new payee to my account and I could confirm or cancel it by clicking a link. Naturally, I didn’t touch the link at all. My bank never contacts me by text, only by letter or in person at the branch. Plus, I wasn’t expecting to add any payees and I rarely shop online. Seems like a typical scam trying to get me to engage further.
