Got a text saying 'hey dad, save this new number.' Then another one came through saying I need to wait a day for my online banking to clear before I can pay a bill urgently - £900 apparently. I asked for the details and they sent bank info straight away. My wife reckoned it was dodgy and rang my daughter on her old phone to check. Daughter said her number hadn’t changed and she hadn’t lost her phone. After that I told the scammer I’d reported it to the police and blocked the number on my phone.
