Got a text from someone claiming to be my mum, saying she’d got a new phone and to save the number. I replied, and they kept chatting with me. Then they asked if I could settle a bill of £938 for some contractor called John, saying her mobile banking wasn’t working yet on the new phone. It didn’t feel right, so I asked them a question they couldn’t answer properly. Definitely a scam!

There was this caller, sounded like they had an Indian accent, asking for my bank details and personal info. Just a heads up, I heard they use that stuff to make fake passports and open bogus bank accounts. Funny how it’s almost always an international call coming from Kolkata, India. These scammers really seem to be operating from there! So watch out!

Got a text supposedly from Lloyd's about some unauthorised payment attempt. For starters, Lloyd's wouldn’t be texting from a mobile number telling me to click on a dodgy link, and secondly, I don’t even have an account with them. These idiots really ought to find proper work instead of trying to con people, or honestly, they deserve a good kick up the backside!!!

I just got a rather suspicious message from this number, claiming to be from the NHS. It mentioned that I’ve been in touch with someone who has the Omicron variant and urged me to order a “free” testing kit. However, they’re asking for 99p to cover postage - what a blatant scam! If you happen to receive a similar text, I strongly advise you to disregard it and definitely don’t hand over any cash!

Today, I received a text from this number claiming that a dubious payment had been attempted on my Lloyds Bank account, purportedly made from a new device. The message contained a link that supposedly allowed me to verify and cancel the transaction, but it prompted me to enter my Lloyds online banking credentials, which I wisely chose not to do. I took a moment to check my bank account independently-definitely not through that sketchy link-and to my relief, I found no signs of any attempted transactions, nor anything on my pending list. It's evident this is a phishing scam.
