Got a call from a woman claiming to be from Home Energy on 07743912660. She knew my name straight away, which was a bit creepy. I didn’t let her go on any further. Feels like it could be a scam, so watch out for this one.

I got a call from 07743912660 and at the start, all I could hear was some kind of background noise like an office. Then a woman came on claiming to represent an energy firm. She even knew my name and that I own my house, which was a bit strange. She started going on about insulation stuff, but honestly I couldn’t really catch what she was saying so I just hung up. Later on, I checked the number here and it seems like I wasn’t wrong to be suspicious - looks like a scam. Also, the fact it was a mobile number made me more wary.

They rang me up and introduced themselves as an energy consultancy, saying they were following up on an earlier conversation. I told them I hadn’t spoken to them before. Then she said they were reaching out to all seniors and homeowners (which I’m neither) and asked if I lived at the address she mentioned. I said I wasn’t interested, and she kept asking, “Not interested in what?” so I just ended the call.

Somebody rang me saying they were from a conservation group.

The phone went to voicemail and as soon as I answered, they just hung up on me.

Some bloke rang saying he was from conservation or something, so I asked him who exactly he was with. He just said "conservation officer" again. I asked once more, "Who for?" and then he hung up on me. Sounds like a total scam to me.
