4 monthsSomeone called, pretending to be from Direct Line insurance. They seemed to know all the details about my claim already. Then they put me through to a lawyer, saying I could get compensation.Direct Line8 monthsGot a call from someone claiming to be my insurance, said it was about a recent crash. They asked for info about my passenger to supposedly start a claim with my own insurer - which is who they said they were. They also wanted specifics like where and when the accident happened. That’s when I got suspicious. The bloke’s name was Adam and he had an English accent. No idea how he got hold of my details or anything. My insurance told me to just block the number.Adam11 monthsGot a call from a bloke named Adam who said he was from my insurance and knew everything about my recent accident. He was telling me I was entitled to some compensation. Thought it sounded a bit off, so I rang my actual insurance company and they said it wasn’t them. Adam rang again, but I called him out straight away. Strange situation, he seemed pretty keen on me making a claim, but no idea what he was hoping to gain.Adam11 monthsI called that number and the guy on the other end had what I reckon was a proper Liverpudlian accent.1 yearThey rang me up, saying they were from the AA and that we’d talked before. Then they began asking about my accident, stuff I’d already told the AA directly. When I told them I’d get in touch with the AA on my own, they just ended the call.AA1 yearThey somehow already knew I’d been in a crash, knew the name of my insurer and even where I picked up my rental car from. Plus, they mentioned the other motorist had admitted fault. Quite unnerving!2 yearsThis bloke somehow managed to get all my info from a crash I never even reported, then tried telling me he was my claims guy. Fool didn’t hide his phone number though, so I looked him up on WhatsApp and his picture's right there. Might want to rethink showing your face if you’re gonna be out here scamming people. Sorted him out and blocked.WhatsApp2 yearsGot a call from what said was HMRC, an automated voice telling me legal steps were being taken against me. Before they could finish, the line just went dead.HMRC2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be from my insurance after a recent crash. They actually knew about the accident but twisted the details and managed to get some security info from me. I rang my insurer to check if the call was legit, and once I told the guy it was a scam, he instantly cut me off and blocked my number. Said he was Adam Morgan from Admiral, with a proper English accent. Just nasty people taking advantage of folks after accidents. Proper rubbish.Adam Morgan2 yearsI got a call from someone claiming they worked at Aviva and said I was entitled to some sort of payout because my car was involved in a crash not long ago.Aviva2 yearsI don’t know how, but this so-called legit insurance firm managed to get hold of my phone number somehow.2 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be AA, but I’m convinced it was a scam. How they knew my phone number and even details about my recent accident is beyond me. Feels like they had too much info to be real.Submit Your Own Report (07742 428607)
