I got a call on my home phone from a recorded voice claiming to be from my bank's fraud department saying there were suspicious transactions on my account. They mentioned a £199 purchase from Amazon and £899 sent via bank transfer. They told me to press a key to talk to a person, so I did. A strange accent answered, just saying hello. It struck me that they never said which bank they were from, and wouldn't my bank ring from an official number rather than a mobile? So I just hung up.

I got a call from someone saying it was about bank fraud, but they never mentioned which bank. They claimed there was an £800 transfer and a big charge on Amazon. Then they told me to press a button to keep going, after which a foreign voice came on and the line just cut off.
