I got a text from a mobile, saying I owed HMRC money and that I’d be prosecuted if I didn’t act. They wanted me to press a button on the call, but I didn’t fall for it once I figured it was dodgy. I’ve since passed the number onto Action Fraud to report it.

Got this call from some fraudster pretending to be HM Revenue and Customs, saying I owe them money. Total rubbish if you ask me. They’d always send a letter first, not just ring and play a recorded message. Then they want you to press a number to ‘sort it out’. Honestly, do they reckon we’re total muppets? Scammers like these are gonna get found out soon enough. I’ve blocked the number - 07740749048 - and I’d say you should too.
