I had a rather dodgy encounter with a bloke who was keen on purchasing my phone from Gumtree. We struck a deal for cash, but upon his arrival, he insisted on doing a bank transfer instead. He then proceeded to flash a phoney banking app, claiming that the transaction had gone through, despite the sort code being utterly incorrect. To make matters worse, he wouldn’t allow me to leave for a good two hours, and I must admit, I felt quite frightened for my safety as he was rather pushy and menacing. It’s worrying to think he might be targeting women specifically, so I urge everyone to stay vigilant and protect themselves in situations like this.
