I had someone try to buy a phone off me through Gumtree, said they’d pay in cash but when they turned up, suddenly wanted to do a bank transfer instead. They pulled out some dodgy app claiming the payment had gone through, but the sort code didn’t even match. I was stuck there for nearly 2 hours, couldn’t get away, and honestly felt really threatened because they were quite pushy and hostile. Feels like they might target women, so just watch out if you’re selling things to strangers.
