I just texted them saying it was their mum, but using my new number. Honestly, best thing to do is block these scammers completely.

Got a call from someone pretending to be my daughter, saying they had a new phone number. Then they tried to trick us into paying for a boiler by claiming they couldn’t get into their bank because of the number change and that it was urgent. Luckily, I spotted the scam and reported it to action fraud straight away.
