Then a chat window popped up on the Lloyds app, so I rang the number and the person on the line sounded legit at first, even saying they’d send me a new sort code and account number. But when they started asking me to set up a new account payee, I got suspicious. Told them I wanted to double-check at the bank, and they suddenly turned rude and aggressive.
