I got a call from a woman speaking with a heavy South Asian accent saying that since I was a loyal O2 customer, I’d qualified for a discount on my phone plan. She told me she’d send me a text with a code and asked me to read it back to her. But the message I got from O2 didn’t seem right at all - it actually warned about fraud and said if anyone calls asking for the code, to hang up because they're not from O2. It also gave a number to ring if you think there’s any scam going on. Proper dodgy. 1/2

2/2 *Watch out for scams* Don't EVER give out this code, not even if someone says they're from O2. They use it to secure your O2 account. They asked for a code to let me claim a discount .. I made it clear I wouldn’t share it for anything .. she seemed annoyed and just hung up .. STAY SAFE!!!
