Got a text from this number with a link, saying I could get £100 to £300 for winter fuel because it’s supposed to be cold soon. When I clicked it, it looked like a Council website and asked me to pay £1.00 first, promising to refund it in about a week or so. It was clearly a scam trying to get my banking info. Luckily, I rang my bank straightaway and everything was fine. Watch out for dodgy messages like this. If you’re eligible for any payments, the DWP just sends the money straight to your account - no forms or payments needed.
