This has all the hallmarks of a scam, they’re trying to pin some tax charges on supposed PPI refunds. The call centre said they’re listed on Companies House but come on, who falls for that? It’s worth noting that cold calls about money stuff are actually against the law.

Someone rang me claiming I was owed a tax rebate from an old PPI claim. They already had all my details, which made me suspicious if it was legit or not.

Received a call claiming I was owed a tax refund related to a PPI claim from 2018/19. They insisted I qualified for a HMRC tax refund on that payout. Problem is, this was totally a SCAM and FRAUD because I never filed any PPI claim at all.
