Someone called pretending to be from my family asking for cash. Absolutely don’t engage with these types of calls!

Got a message this evening from someone claiming to be a family member who’d accidentally dropped their phone in the loo. They said it was an old device with no calls or banking functions, then asked me to transfer £949 to Thomas Pack, with some account number and a reference including my name, from a blocked number. I’ve reported it to the National Fraud team but didn’t get much help. Tried reaching out to Halifax via email and phone - no luck so far. Planning to visit the branch first thing in the morning. Does anyone actually give a toss about this?
