Yesterday I got a message saying, 'Hi Mum, here's my new number.' I replied but then today I received another text from 07733521692 saying, 'Hi Mum, this is my updated number - please delete the old ones.' After that, they started asking me for cash.

Got a text off someone saying “hi mum, save my new number” but I didn’t recognise it at all. Did a quick search of the number and stumbled upon this site!

Somebody called, claiming to be my kid using a new phone number and asked for bank info because "they needed cash". I was quick to spot the con since I’ve heard about this sort of scam before. Plus, my oldest is just 9 and was right here with me when the call came in.
